Most of these are either donated autos, which are used for promation of the local police force’s ability to chase violators. The viper, and mustangs are usually only used by the State Troopers as highway intercepters. Which are usually only used to keep up with people who break that third digit. (Topping over twice the limit = roh oh, huge fines, and jail time.)

The Mercedes Benz AMGs, and Porsche models are obviously Europe only to chase after the other AMGs, and 911s on the Autobahn. The Itailian exotics are usually either only donated, or one or two are purchased as show-case models.

I’m supprised you haven’t included the new BMW 3 Series that ALL police in the UK now drive. Their starting to phase out the old Fords, and it’s mostly BMW’s now. The need for speed :)

The Texas one is funny, but whats up with all the Porsche 911’s in use? It would be more funny in the US.

And why is that dinky smart car in a list of “amazing” police cars? In Portland they are used only as parking enforcement.

in tulsa oklahoma there is escalade suv cop cars and the whole new force of cars the average pd drives are magnums and chargers.they gives 20 tickets a day. its the quota per officer. … and they wonder why people in this city hate them so much after getting “no turn signal tickets, “wreckless driving for switching lanes to fast” and “tail light out” tickets on a daily basis.

@hayes - no AMG’s here, thats a Brabus (custom version of the Bullet i believe). In Germany these kind of cars are essential for the Autobahnpolizei (Highway Patrol) since there are routinely people harrasing others to move out of the way at 200 KMH+. Its not illegal to drive that fast, but if you are chasing somebody with only a few metres distance between you, that is illegal and leads to hefty fines ;) This particular model isnt used on active duty though but just displayed at tuning shows i believe.
